Last week we did a piece on the Irish Open looking at some of the contenders for the title. We tipped the consistent Lorenzo-Vera as a somewhat outsider to take the trophy. He was in contention and would have finished much higher than tied ninth, if it was not for a formidable final round by Jon Rahm who carded a final round of eight-under par.
The Irish Open is now in full swing – if you can pardon the pun – and after the first round, it is local boy Padraig Harrington who leads the pack by one. Followed by a plethora of European talent, including the likes of Olesen, Paisley, Lorenzo-Vera and more.
