Wednesday the 25th October appears to be a fantastic day for racing enthusiasts, and the 16:05 at Newmarket is one of the more revered races of the day, with a whopping £7,000 prize pool up for grabs…
And notably, Knight to Behold is one of the bookie’s favourite picks, currently priced at 9/2. Now, don’t let the generous price make you think the novice has low chances of winning – because, coming directly from H J L Dunlop’s yard, the horse has decent experience, even more revered when you look at the fact that jockey R Kingscote is taking the reins.
Priced at 9/2, Knight to Behold looks simply too good to pass up on… and it’s very likely that we’ll see him making an impact from the moment the stalls first open.
Now, another interesting pick is Bow Street, who comes from Charlie Appleby’s yard. (If you’re not familiar with Charlie Appleby, he’s one of the most well-known and respected trainers in history – and he has hundreds of wins under his belt, making Bow Street a fantastic pick.)
Now, W Buick takes the reigns tomorrow, meaning Bow Street has a solid chance of placing – and likely, we’ll see her make a strong case for a top-three finish…
Although it all depends on whether Knight to Behold can keep her off for the mile-long race.
Now, another interesting pick is Refrain, who, ridden by Jim Crowley, has perhaps the most experienced jockey of the day on board. Trained by Sir Michael Stouter, it’s also well-worth pointing out the fact that the horse comes from a highly-respected yard…
And priced at a generous 13/2, there appears to be some great each-way value here.
At the end of the day, whether or not anyone can be a contender to Knight to Behold remains to be seen – but if the race plays out in the good weather that’s currently expected at Newmarket – there appear few who’ll be able to launch a real challenge on the favourite, aside from the couple we mentioned.
Remember to get your bets on early, as prices will likely change quite rapidly – and to see the starting prices, you’ll need to check early on the morning of the race, to see what’s going on!
