Wednesday’s 14:35 at Sedgefield looks to be one of the more interesting racecards of the day, and this 2M, 5F 28Y race looks set to take place in relatively good conditions, with good-good to soft ground setting the scene for what should be an action-packed race…
And when it comes to potential winners, there appears to be a fairly large amount of choice, on offer!
While there appears to be a distinct lack of any ante-post prices available, Callum Bewley’s Chain of Beacons looks set to be the bookie’s favourite for the day, and despite his form wavering in his last few races, an impressive 226123 form card ensures he comes to Sedgefield in solid form – making him a runner to look out for, for sure.
Another we like the look of, is Ever So Much – and despite pulling up on two of his last three races – this horse is trained by B M R Haslam, and is ridden by renowned jockey R P McLeron – making him an experienced novice, by all accounts.
In terms of the outsiders we like the look of, well, Sweet Belle looks to be the best pick, and with a 421-270 form card, she may not look as though she’s capable of bringing her A-game this Wednesday… but a rather optimistic William Clarke (the jockey riding her) and Kenny Johnson (the trainer) appear to have high hopes for her, as they’re racing her alongside another novice from the same stable – something we generally only see happening when there’s an air of confidence around.
Not to be ignored also, is Micky Hammond’s Knocknamona, who, despite an underwhelming start to the season, managed to claw a first-place victory in her last race – and coming all the way from Ireland, her trains and owners clearly have faith in her, that she can be a strong contender in the race… and with an estimated price of around 14/1, she makes up a fantastic value each way bet.
Whether anyone can end up challenging Chain of Beacons remains to be seen, but one thing that is certain, is that there’s lots at stake, with 13 runners set to join the race…
And you’ll want to get your bets on as soon as prices are declared, tomorrow morning, to avoid any disappointment!
