Sweden is one of the most experienced teams in the world right now, and their form speaks for itself, with their last three games being wins. Luxemburg on the other hand have two losses out of their last three games – and in all honesty, Saturday’s match shouldn’t really be too much of a competition, with the Swedes expected to easily conquer the visitors.
Now, the bookies are in firm-agreement with the punter’s, and notably, Sweden are overwhelming favourites to win the game. That being said, just because Luxemburg have experienced a run of poor form, recently, doesn’t mean you should count them out entirely, and their recent 0-0 draw against France – despite not being a win – was actually one of the best performances we’ve seen from the team, with a fantastic display of team-man-ship displayed during every minute.
For that reason, we’re likely to see Sweden play a cautious game from start, to finish. Indeed, they don’t need a win to secure their place – so playing a feisty, fast-paced game would be virtually pointless, with really, the only point of the game, for Sweden, being to help protect their top-two finish, within their group.
That being said, the game could see the difference between Sweden landing a top place finish, and a second-place finish, and if France lose point against Bulgaria, Sweden would take top-place, if they manage to beat Luxemburg.
In terms of betting, we personally think one of the best betting opportunities looks to be Sweden to win, and Under 3.5 goals. Priced at 8/5 by the bookies, this may not appear – at first – to be too lucrative…
But when you consider the careful nature that Sweden will probably enter the game with – along with the fact that the Swedes should cinch victory – it looks like one of the better bets.
It could also be worth taking a punt on correct-score betting, and while we usually advise against such a bet, a 1-0, or 2-0 win to Sweden looks highly-attractive here. Both scores would be a reasonable finish for the team, and given their impressive form, going forward, we see no reason why this wouldn’t be a pretty decent bet to take advantage of!
Overall, however, as is always the case with football, there are no guarantees…
