Saturday’s 5PM kick-off sees two of Italy’s biggest teams come together in – what is arguably one of the most anticipated matches of the season, so far – and few matches in Italy’s Serie A San Siro league come close, both in terms of the number of supporters we can expect to see – and the coverage in both media, and on online bookies.
Now, we’ll come more to the odds and bets we like the look of later on – but first, let’s take a look at who we feel is a noteworthy contender to cinch the match!
While AC Milan were once the top in seria A in Italy, their recent performance has been less-than-ideal, and despite winning their last match 2-0 against SPAL, their previous three matches have all resulted in losses, against Sampdoria (0-2), Roma (0-2), and Inter Milan (2-3) – with the match before, resulting in a tie.
Now, compare that against the form of Juventus – who have won three of their last five games, and drawn, and lost just one – and you’ll see that it’s clear that the visitors – Juventus – enter Saturday’s match as clear favourites.
One thing that could help AC Milan, however, is the fact that the game is taking place at their home stadium – and the home team have a notable reputation for having one of the best fan-sets in the world, with their fans erupting in noise, when goals are scored.
(And sure; you’re probably thinking that all football teams cheer when their team scores – but just take a look on YouTube as some of the AC Milan stadium’s best moments – and you’ll see exactly what we mean!)
However, Juventus are a team that have played in the toughest competitions in the world – and are unlikely to be phased by the crowd, like is the case with some of the smaller teams in the league – so while this may play to AC Milan, in some way, it’s very unlikely to impact Juventus’s performance, too much.
Now, betting-wise, one of the most attractive bets probably has to be the Both Teams to Score bet – as, given the poor defence both teams display all too often, we may see both sides slotting the ball past the line – and at odds of around evens, it may not be the best ‘to win’ bet, but it’s ideal to put in an acca to boost your prices, and increase your overall potential winnings!
