Drew Brees is a young American Football quarterback who was born on the 15 January 1979. He started his career at Purdue university and after a successful career there where he achieved 13 Big Ten Conference records and 19 Purdue University records.

In 2001 he was a second-round pick in the NFL draft and was chosen by the San Diego Chargers. He only established a starting role in the Chargers first team in 2002 and succeeded because in 2004 he managed to reach a Pro Bowl. After an unfortunate injury he had signed for the New Orleans Saints in 2006 and succeeded there as well. It was here the talented player had instant success with him leading the Saints to their very first Super Bowl in Super Bowl XLIV, where they beat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17. Since he joined the Saints he has had an endless amount of success with him leading all NFL quarterbacks in touchdowns, passing yards and 300-yard games. He also holds the NFL record for pass completion percentage and passing yards.

Brees at the young age of 39 needed just 201 yards to overhaul Peyton Manning who held a record of 71,940 yards. Brees managed to break the record in the second quarter of the game against the Washington Redskins. The Saints managed a 43-19 win over the Redskins and Brees managed to throw 363 yards where he broke the record and set a new one that currently lies on 72,103 yards.

The game was halted at one point to commemorate Brees achievement, ESPN who was televising the game had Brees wear a microphone during the game and while on the field Brees had said to his sons “Hey, boys, how about that, huh? You can accomplish anything in life, if you are willing to work for it.”

He is now in his 18th season in the NFL and was congratulated for his commitment and dedication to the NFL.

Brees has achieved so many other awards individually and with the Saints such as the NFL Super Bowl in 2009 where he won the MVP of the game award. He also has 499 career touchdowns passes which is one short of the all-time record currently being held by Manning, Brett Favre and Tom Brady. Although Brees has been praised for so many of his achievements he was still humble in his acceptance of the match winning ball with which he broke the passing yards record. Brees said “I still feel like there’s work to be done” which shows how humble he is and that the sky is the limit for him. He still has many opportunities to break multiple other records because he doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
